Hapkido - Self Defense
Learn self-defense in an active, inclusive, and safe environment!
Students learn self-defense, physical fitness, self-discipline, respect, confidence, and stress relief.
Hapkido is a way of Korean self-defense that emphasizes strikes, kicks, joint locks, and throws against various attacks. Students will learn the Korea Hapkido Federation (KHF) curriculum as it is taught in South Korea.
Hapkido will be a monthly program!

FEES: $25 (monthly practice fee - special pricing for the 2025 fall cycle - normal is $50)
$60 (1-time uniform and US-ITF initiation fee) -This fee covers the cost of your martial arts uniform and the cost of a US-ITF membership. This fee only needs to be paid once per participant.
NOTE: No previous experience is required, but students are recommended to pass a physical examination with a doctor before participating.
INSTRUCTOR: John A. Johnson (PhD) is a 7th degree black belt in Taekwon-Do and Hapkido with over 40 years of constant practice. He has earned the title of Master in both arts. Dr. Johnson is also a licensed Kansas teacher who spent 22 years teaching English and Physical Education in Korea. He was a professor in the Department of Taekwondo in the College of Physical Education at Keimyung University (Daegu, Korea) and is an internationally recognized academic in Taekwon-Do pedagogy, philosophy, and sports diplomacy.
