Youth Baseball & Softball Program - 2026 Season
Our Youth Baseball & Softball Program focuses on skill development, teamwork, and a fun game-day experience for players of all abilities. All leagues are recreational and instructional.
Game Days:
Baseball: Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays (subject to change)
Softball: Tuesdays and Thursdays (subject to change)
Games are played at USD 266 fields and/or TRYC fields (final locations confirmed closer to the season)
Practices:
Teams practice 1–2 times per week
Practices typically begin between 6:00 PM and 7:00 PM on weeknights, weekend practice times will vary.
Head coaches determine the practice schedule. Practice locations are assigned by Maize Rec.
Season Length:
Each team will play an 8-game schedule
Equipment:
Each player must bring their own glove, bat, and helmet
Loaner helmets are available for those who need assistance

Registration Opens: January 1st
Registration Deadline: March 30th
Coaches Meetings: Week of April 13th - hosted at 10100 W Grady Ave
Tball - April 13th - softball at 6pm / baseball at 7pm
Coach pitch - April 15th - softball at 6pm / baseball at 7pm
Kid pitch softball - April 16th - 4th-5th at 6pm / 6th-7th at 7pm
Kid pitch baseball - April 18th - 4th-5th at 10am / 6th-7th at 11am
Practices Begin: Week of April 20th
Games Begin: Week of May 18th
Divisions & Fees: (All grades as of 26-27 school year)
T-Ball: (Kindergarten - 1st Grade, separate boys and girls): $55 In-District / $65 Out-of-District / Family Cap $130–$140
Coach Pitch: (2nd – 3rd Grade, separate boys and girls): $60 In-District / $70 Out-of-District / Family Cap $130–$140
Kid Pitch Softball: (4th – 5th Grade Girls): $65 In-District / $75 Out-of-District / Family Cap $130–$140
Kid Pitch Softball: (6th – 7th Grade Girls): $65 In-District / $75 Out-of-District / Family Cap $130–$140
Kid Pitch Baseball: (4th – 5th Grade Boys): $65 In-District / $75 Out-of-District / Family Cap $130–$140
Kid Pitch Baseball: (6th – 7th Grade Boys): $65 In-District / $75 Out-of-District / Family Cap $130–$140
Division Format Disclaimer: Kid Pitch Softball divisions may be combined depending on registration numbers. If combined, the division will be 4th–6th grade as in previous seasons. Families will be notified before the season.

Team Shirt, Team Hat, Individual/Team Picture, End-of-Season Medal
Volunteer Coaches: (New for 2026)
For up to three volunteer coaches per team, Maize Rec will provide registration fee refunds in the form of an account credit (to the value of an in-district registration). The head coach will receive a full refund of their child’s registration fee, and each assistant coach will receive a half refund. Account credits may be applied toward future Maize Rec sports or programs.
Refunds will be issued at the end of the season, provided that both coaches remain in good standing with our program by:
- Passing a background check
- Upholding the coaches code of conduct (no unsportsmanlike conduct)
- Maintaining consistent attendance at practices and games
All volunteers will be vetted by the Sports Director, and the most qualified/experienced candidates will be selected. Marking “Yes” to volunteering on the registration form does not guarantee selection.
